Sweet Memories

-Rivaz-
I remember the time when guys like Me, dingo and another one I can't remember some lithuanian oh yes Unframed, used to come here every single day and tried so hard to act smart but the fact was we cared, I did and I'm pretty sure they did as well, no matter what we all cared and the funny thing is we were all in denial that we didn't, that makes me smile when I call back those days. I think I had a great time in shc, the best days of my life, I used to be in school and the main thing that made my shc career even more fun was that me and my clanmates were all friends in reality too. Me, Savo, Fallen, Victor, Aragorn, Fearless and a founding member of wrw, Ghozek. We all are still good friends. If somehow I get a chance to relive that time and I'm told that what would I do? I'd play shc again.. But yes we all grow up, things change, priorities change. And we don't get to have enough time to have "fun". And now look at these forums, this is the site I used to open before facebook! or any other site. Look at it, its dead now. That makes me think that we've grown up and thats a good thing but what good is to be grown when you cant have time for things that you used to do or were obsessed to do? I came here after a long time and seeing this site like this obviously made me a bit sad, even fahad isn't doing shit here, lol. The last thing I'd like to say is that I've had a great time in shc and if someday I'll definately think of a come back and have "fun".
What if I told you, Your perception is a misconception due to Media Deception.

I still feel like an addict as i checked this site "only" after 1 day this post was made, lol(still it already had 19 views, how the hell ...).

I guess most of us used to become emotional during these discussions which means we cared. Im happy most of things I argued about weren't very connected with SHC. It's what I don't regret, getting to know other players in person, making my understanding about other countries people better. Trying to understand what drives people, whether it's being able to buy a lot of stuff and enjoying prosperous life or just being very proud of your country. Im still not a huge fan of nationalism but it's not the right time to argue.

SHC was important, of course, small community had its own advantages. We all had ability to play with best players, understand their tactics, get to know each other. It's like a life in villige(the definition of villige might variate). Knowing whom are you playing to made this whole thing interesting.

Sad topic here, coming to play for fun is a good thing, but only if we see some other old faces, most of those people are unknown to me now and i don't feel like getting to know them. But still SHC isn't as interesting now as it used to before, that what makes us feel little sad but as life goes on there are many other things to try, and not virtual ones.

[P.S. I just thought that if I had written this  2 years ago, answer to my post would be "I didn't read your shit but ... " :D ]

But I agree with all that you said, of course I have good memories from SHC, and it was the community that kept us all interested more than the actual game. Even if half of the community had mental issues, it was always fun to try and bring them down.

growing up sucks. I only get 4-5hours a sleep every 5days of a week. I want to go back in 2010 and start over,i will be coming back in 2015 i guess, I m so unlucky ,i had a good system going but i had to ruin this game for me and everybody else and for that i apologize, at the end Feanor and Viktor proved to be more lucky than me, they still play this game and thats something. Anyway i m even missing my enemies,no matter how stupid arguments we had , you still carved some memories for me. I can never repay you guys for what u did for me, Thank you but life is like a race ,u give up something u can never regain it. Even if i come back to shc it wont matter because the system keeps working . Its funny how i used to think i matter to the world but in the end i just turned out to be a speck of dust flowing in the direction of wind. No matter how high i went i still stooped and came back to where i started from (Nowhere) . I am sorry and i hope u all forgive me.

I think our experiences in the SHC community contributed noticeably to the type of people we are today.

Rather than a village, the old SHC community (especially from GSA times) reminds me of warring kingdoms of old days long gone, and is probably the closest possible online replication of old times - complete with kingdoms and clans, kings, lords, peasants, warriors, pirates, legends, outlaws, spies etc... the politics and power struggles in GSA was what made it so entrancing to me (especially with the greater community participation facilitated by the GSA lobby, and the fact that there were hundreds of more active players back then).

The way you think of SHC right now is probably how I was feeling about the game in 2010; a few more years and you kind of give up on it, and thinking about it isn't satisfying, but you'll always have a tiny wish to have it back. Now it's something I almost never think about because remembering it brings good memories, but also makes me realize it's gone without any chance of returning.

The game was, as you said unframed, like another life lol. To me, this was exponentially true in my younger days, as I was so focused on being the best, and making sure my "kingdom" was supreme, etc, and that my enemies were all under my foot. I learned an astounding amount about people and how they think, behave, and react.

I wonder what would it be like today if me, Blackknight, Skydragon, and ThaKing never fucked up the GSA lobby?

Yeah, but I feel like we'll always (unfortunately?) have strong ties to these old days, and many years from now I'll probably sit back and wonder, "What ever happened to Dingo, Unframed, Riva, etc?", just like I wonder sometimes now, "I wonder what FireDragon is doing... and Meelman... are they alive?... why do I care?"

Re: Sweet Memories

admin
Greetings!

Looks like we got some "soft azz Nikkas" here!

Nothing against the GR dudes, but in reality SHC was way more funer (hmmm this should be a word) in GSA... We had a fooking lobby and we saw when someone logged in and shit. There was a lot more hate towards clans and players, there were chill rooms made by different clans and players (glory days). I know i had a chill room, HL didnt have one cuz he wasnt cool enough and everyone hated him (SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH). I just smile when i remember good ol' days. Holylord you aint the only one who thinks about what other players are doing these days, i think everyone does except DS and BD (mo fo! never came back they vanished into the thin air). This is what i do at my job these days LMAO (Making bread while writing some dumb shit )! All of the GR newbies should blame THE GANG for messing up the chances of playing in GSA. Back when GSA banned the lobby i could have had the lobby back cuz i had talks with a WIZ (Mr.MOO or Hick) and an ADMIN (Close friends or were they?) , but they just shut me up by saying they will do it again and we are;t taking the risk of letting it happen again.
I wonder how many old peeps would return to try SHC2 ?

I agree with you of course, that the politics of SHC were part of what made the game crazy. I also still keep in touch with some of my old friends, like tbag, and we sometimes talk shit to each other about soccer, but I actually support the Croatian national team just for him.

As for SHC and its past, I think a lot of us could tell long sob stories about how much we miss it. For me, I was extremely addicted to it when I was younger, but I've moved passed that and I no longer have the time to be an addict, which I know is true for a lot of other people now days too. That's why for SHC2 I highly doubt too many people from before will be very serious players.

You people go on go on.. Tell whats on your heart :D I cant add much as ive only played in gsa for a month and it was after the lobby was closed. I believe it may have been the greatest times of SHC. Still, later in 2009-2011 were pretty good times in GR as well. Maybe not as good as GSA used to be to someone else, but there was some drama too.

To make something interesting you must put some drama in it and noobs can't do it, that's where holylord's input was noticible, well we should not forget dingo and tbag making some confusions with many of their akas and there were other good players without mentioning they just didnt participate in shc life too much. Holylord was the authority so his tops and stuff were interesting. Even though many of us didnt agree with some of them, who cares. These days there is no good leader of the community, who would also be very good as a player, would have expert view about shc(not leading to a loss of variety of rules) and would have time for forums and stuff. Fena was fake leader, nobody gave a shit about him because he was(is) a degraded person and no one wanted to be like him.

Yep, definitely, I have to admit, all this shit talking, cocky attitudes, and drama is what shc thrived on.  nd I agree 100% I wish I could just wake up one saturday morning with a lobby packed with foos to play against. I learned alot from this damn game, and met some of the coolest people too. It's sad to see how it has deteriorated over the years and even more depressing logging into gamespy arcade =/

I think, when i first played SHC on Gamespy it was somewhere around 2005 maybe? I was about 12 years old and could barely communicate in english. The funny thing is i learned english by beeing on Gamespy everyday, so that i always had perfect grades in english, so at least there's something positive :P

I often think about the old Gamespy times and get really nostalgic. So many good active players, much more interesting people, all the drama, chatrooms, ladder, real tourneys....

I wish i could live through the old times with now beeing older :)

Played my first SHC game in I think 4 years.  I would log into GR now and then to say high, but rarely see any oldies on.  408302 if my GR ID fyi.  Hope everyone has been well over the years.  Reading these messages sure brings back some good memories.  WhiteShadow, another oldie from GameSPy days, we got into League of Legends a bit about a year or so ago, we are no good, but we are old men now, playing in a world of crazy good gamesters.  Take care everyone.  My LOL name is Harding2.  If you play League also come say hi sometime.

yes indeed Holylord those were great times... Even had you guys not screwed over that lobby it only had a couple more years AT most left. I remember being on the conference calls with all the Admins, they knew the end was near anyway. "Those were the times never to be forgotten" as a famous person once said.  I still keep in contact with a few of you and probly always will.  WhiteShadow and I have never lost touch, and I see a few of you on LoL now and then. Stay safe and well everyone.
