I hope so too. I never had as much fun in any game or community as I had in Stronghold: Crusader. Those who remember playing with me know I was dedicated to this game beyond anything else. I always tried to improve the community and make new things to keep this game alive. But I always did these things on my own. Now I am asking for help from the community, to help run and manage itself, in this new environment we are creating. I think this will be the greatest age SHC has seen.

Thank you for understanding. Players who remember me will know that I never tried much at all to be a 'skilled' player. My days of skill were in '02 and '03, and when the game became more competitive I backed off completely. I am not into fighting and arguing about who is best, I play only for fun. So instead I spent my time and knowledge training new players, building maps, I created an anti-cheat program "The All Seeing Eye", and brought tournaments to GameSpy through the Wizard team. I am not here for glory or fame, though some may say I have achieved some in my day, but I am here rather to ensure the game and community continues, and to have the most fun possible while doing it.

another big problem of shc next to the cheaters is the lag... so will you also try to improve the performance or is shc just so badly made that it will always lag?

This again would take an edit of the game. There is really nothing we can do about it. I will use my contacts with FireFly, which I hope will improve even more with the release of this program, and see if we can get them to release a new patch to fix this. The main problem here is that our player base is so diverse across the world, that nearly every game includes two players from opposite sides of the planet. And if either player has a bad connection or hardware, you are going to receive lag.

well thats not even the problem
if 2 guys living near each other play and both have high end pcs with good connection, there will STILL be lag (at least the delay)
the multiplayer mode of the game is just awfully made, but i gave up hoping for a fix after 10 years :o

I dont really have problems, except maybe when PT just ends on a 2vs2 and everyone is furiously clicking away to train troops. But I have a very nice PC.

Its a very good idea Merlin the Magnificent, I hope that program works same good as it sounds.
Site looks good (except the SH2 guy, but I guess he is provisionally decoration instead of Richard), keep it on.
